Easter

We got back from Arizona just in time to celebrate Easter. I put together a basket and planned a little egg hunt for Jack on Easter morning, he had a blast finding the eggs hidden around the house. His expression was priceless when he opened the egg to find a cracker or treat! Anything for food! After our hunt, we spent the day with Dan's family. We ate brunch and enjoyed the nice weather.

Jack's First Birthday

Jack turned 1 on March 25th! We had a party at Grandma and Grandpa Gatti's house to celebrate the big day. He was overwhelmed with all of the new toys and gifts he got from everyone. I took it upon myself to make his first birthday cake, it was a carrot cake and he loved it. To our surprise, Jack didn't make too much of a mess. He came very close to putting the candle out with his finger, but mom dove in and blew it out before he could touch it! It was a great party and we are thankful to have such great family and friends!

Family Vacation to Scottsdale, AZ

This past April, we took our first trip as a family to Scottsdale. Jack was a trooper on the plane, thanks to snacks and new toys. He even survived a three hour delay on the way home, thank goodness for the empty seat between Dan and I.

We spent the week at Aunt Kathy's just relaxing. Since sleeping in is no longer an option, we took Jack to a great park every morning. He had his first adventure with slides, swings and sand. Not too sure about sand, he wasn't crazy about getting dirty. There was a great locomotive that we could ride around the park, Jack loved it and learned cho-cho. Grandma Gatti and Aunt Annie joined us later in the trip, we had a great time with them.

We spent a day at the Phoenix Zoo and the Phoenix Botanical Gardens, went shopping, ate great food and played at the pool. It was a great trip! The video below was taken at the zoo, Jack was just learning to walk.
